This festival was named in honor of the founder of the UAE, the Father of the Emirates, Sheik Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, as a sign of recognition for the main role in preserving the nation's proud history. The festival celebrates the cultural heritage of the UAE, presents the diversity of its traditions and provides an educational platform for enlightenment.
The main exhibitions of the festival are memories of the nations traditional customs, interactive, artists, workshops, Emirati Folk and International Village - Market (Bosnia and Herzegovina).
One interesting thing at this festival is the Zayed Grand Prize, and that prize is more than thirty years old. It is a one-of-a-kind camel fair and is the largest in the world, with over 10,000 camels presented. It was founded by Bin Zayed Sultan Al Sheikh Nahyan, as the “Sheikh Zayed Camel Race Grand Prix”.
